In this kitchen, we removed the existing appliances, cabinets, counter tops, drop ceilings over the cabinets and the tile walls. We installed new cabinets with crown molding to the ceiling, new granite tops with a farm sink, and a custom built open cubby storage unit under the window by the table in the nook. The new kitchen was finished off with new tile back splashes and all new painted ceilings and walls. This kitchen really opened up and felt much bigger by changing the old design which had a wall oven into a slide in range instead. That created much more needed counter space in this kitchen and opening the view across the room which makes is feel larger. The removal of the existing fur downs and the new cabinets going all the way up to the ceiling with the crown molding always helps to open up the space and bring height to the room as well as the choice to finish the cabinets in a clean white bright color. More organized storage space, more counter space, and the feeling of a larger space is priceless!
