Lake Ogleton Waterfront, Annapolis

Blending a sense of the past with the present, this three-story house presents a quiet, asymmetrical front. The roof, comprised of two gambrels intersecting at 90-degree angles like a cruciform, provides needed volume under the eaves while reducing the apparent mass of the building. On the waterfront side, generous porches extend the living space outdoors and large windows let in light and views. The facade is shaped into a series of shifting planes, with windows recessed under eaves and behind columns and railings.
