Lake Oswego Estate
Working in close collaboration with Kaemingk Collection and the client, Pistils designed, developed and installed the landscape for the expansive grounds of this multi-faceted estate in Lake Oswego, Oregon, which includes a large, modern swimming pool and pool house, an extensive sport court complex, a bespoke, contemporary greenhouse, and a regulation-sized golf green.
Vistas abound on this wide-ranging property with its vast sweeps of pollinator-loving ornamental grasses and colorful perennials, punctuated by meandering gravel paths and well-positioned trees to frame the views.
Rustic Oklahoma Bluestone slab stairs navigate the slopes descending from the main house to a ‘glass cube’ modern greenhouse with an adjacent edible production zone with cedar raised beds, cutting garden and a courtyard, flanked by espaliered fruit trees.
The backyard features a spacious patio with a hot tub and a series of inter-connecting walkways constructed with elongated, concrete pavers, set in a staggered pattern and interplanted with grasses and perennials.
Beyond the backyard patio, an expansive lawn overlooks the pool area, a natural meadow with a large rain garden, and golf green below — all set against the stunning backdrop of a tall, conifer forest.
