This spectacular guest house was designed by the architecture team at Charles R. Myer and partners. KMID was engaged to help furnish the living space and two bedrooms. Our first request was to understand how the family used the space when they DIDN'T have guests...or wanted to use the space. We decided that a destination draw was in order so we designed a custom upholstered "island" in the middle of the great room. We wanted a place to come when it was rainy and you wanted to cozy up with a good book, play a game with a sibling or pop some popcorn and melt into a good movie. When designing for a family of six you have to be sure there is room for everyone!
