Las Palmas
Las Palmas is a mid-century modern smart home perched along Noosa River. Due to the mid-century modern design, our client didn’t want to see a lot of “tech”, but we were to balance modern amenities & technology with 60’s style. This is the thought process behind the TV that pops up from a sideboard, all speakers mounted in-ceiling, PIR’s placed discretely and the selected cameras that look like lights. All technology was to be unobtrusive and subtle to blend in with the style of the home whilst meeting our clients requirements in the year 2020, as a couple in their 50’s.
We have incorporated a retro record player into the integrated system, which sits at the main entrance to sum up the technology in the home – it all appears mid-century, but has the capabilities and qualities of a 2020 home.
Las Palmas is like a duck – it looks very simple and uncomplicated above water, but underneath, technically, it is paddling furiously!
