This open-concept, transitional style kitchen makes the most of allowing multiple cooks to prepare and entertain, and provides easy access to the breakfast table overlooking the backyard gardens. The overall layout was improved by closing off an unused doorway to the hallway, and adding tall pantry and microwave oven cabinets in its place. Relocating the main sink to the corner and keeping the original plumbing in the peninsula, allowed for an added bonus of a secondary preparation sink.
These clients were very involved in the design process; each cabinet had a purpose. Cabinetry colour selection of painted finish on maple and cherry stained finish, brings an open airiness and warmth to the room. Flooring, trims, ceiling and under-cabinet lighting were all upgraded to enhance this very personalized space.
