The sitting area off of the kitchen features a custom book cases on either side of a new fireplace. The wood countertop detail is thicker than the stone countertop for added interest in the kitchen island.

The custom stainless steel hood has stainless cabinetry below with an off center cooktop for an unexpected detail.

This photo is a shot into the sitting area from the kitchen. You can see the old fireplace with the white and brass accents, the glass and mirror bookcases and the intrusive columns that border the oddly shaped island.

The fireplace and bookcases. The hearth was raised and posed a tripping hazard. The TV was not easily placed in this room, as the mantle was too high.
