This master bathroom retreat was anything but for the homeowner. With a leaking shower, no storage space, carpet floors, huge mirrors and a poorly designed bathtub, there was nothing spa like about the bathroom. The client wanted a more contemporary feeling, but warmth. The porcelain tile around the window runs into the shower, appearing to go right through the glass. The green glass tile added enough color while still remaining neutral, and the waterfall edge over the custom cabinetry allowed for protection from the bathtub. The inset area above the vanity and bathtub was created as an architectural feature and a stopping place for the tile in this bathroom with 18' ceilings. The steam shower was a must, but with such high ceilings the enclosure ensures warmth while taking a standard shower as well.
