The homeowner has lived in her house for over 30 years and was ready for an updated and more functional kitchen. We removed two small pantry closets within the footprint of the kitchen to replace them with cabinetry and opened the entry into the kitchen by about 18". Aside from those changes, the overall layout and size of the kitchen was not increased. The result is a beautifully updated kitchen with significantly more storage than she had previously.
