This is a morning view of the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone in which I perceive intensified hues, symbolic motifs and dramatic contrasts in the composition. I’m highly honored to have my oil painting Lower Falls of the Yellowstone selected for Art Steamboat, Fine Art Competition and Sale in Steamboat Springs, CO. Art Steamboat showcases the works of 30 top level 2-D artists selected from a five state western region including Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. Juror Betsy Dillard Stroud will select one $10000 Grand Prize from the 30 finalists displayed in the public gala opening event. Art Steamboat is a collaborative effort of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association, Mainstreet Steamboat and local art gallery professionals. Lower Falls of Yellowstone will be displayed at the Steamboat Springs Center for Visual Arts which showcases local and regional emerging artists at its 1500 square foot gallery located at 837 Lincoln Avenue in downtown Steamboat Springs.
