The Madrona House is a modern custom house designed for a young family in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, WA. The reversed floor layout allows the family to live on the second level, maximizing light and views while keeping their bedrooms on the more private lower level. The movement of the house is visually explained through the simple material palette of aluminum panels and cedar boards stained black. The roof deck, with full green roof in sections, allows the client to reclaim the ground space that the house occupies.
