This new single family home is located on a five acre site, formerly the estate of an early twentieth century Toledo industrialist, Ward Canaday. The park-like setting is private and its orientation provides the ability to direct the primary living areas of the house toward the sun with views of a wooded flood plain beyond. The owner’s design challenge was to create an enclave for a family with four younger children, with ample space for work and play, but with the ability to provide a pleasant place for social and business entertaining.
