The word from the bird is that retro style is making a comeback in the interior decorating world. And what could be more fun than vintage inspired fireplace mantel decor for a 4th of July celebration! July is the time for festivals and parades where to local marching bands strut down the streets. Show off a smaller brass or woodwind instrument on the mantel from your high school band days. A piece of a marching band uniform could be used instead, like the feathery hat in the following pictures.

Add a personal touch to this mantel with family photos from the 1950s. Or add a camera from that time period if you're lucky enough to own one.

Coordinate the flowers for the mantel with those used for the wedding or at least make sure they match the color scheme of the bridal party. We added in some tulle to tie in with a wedding dress.
