This beautiful East Cobb brick two story brick home had a dated floorplan where the kitchen was small and separated from the living area by a bathroom and narrow hallway. Our design objective was to open up the floorplan, bring in light and create space for entertainment as well as casual family dining. We moved the bathroom to the front of the house, relocated the entrance to the basement, opened the unused living room to the family and enlarged the opening from the foyer to the dining room. We opened the family room to the screened porch, changed the orientation of the kitchen, created a large multi-function island and moved the pantry with frosted glass doors to the wall that previously led to the screened porch.
