In this renovation project a complete transition into modern contemporary design was possible by the removal of the wall between the dining room and kitchen and installing a beam integrated into the design. The partial wall enclosing the staircase was also removed and replaced with glass and steel. Each element of this project is custom and was designed to incorporate the view into the space and the client's desire for a modern updated space to house objects he has acquired in his travels. The kitchen cabinets were custom designed and stained to fit all elements and maximize the use of appliances. The granite on the island is back lit which creates a unique ambiance in the evening light.
