Our client wanted a home that reflects her lifestyle ans personality. This home is located in Maurens, a small village an hour away from Bordeaux. The home is surrounded by hay fields and wild oak trees forests so bringing so bringing a little outdoors in was key. We only used natural materials such as the original limestone for some of the living room walls, Jerusalem limestone tile for the floor, mixed metals and french oak for all the custom furniture pieces. We wanted the home to have character but also blend in with its environment. We chose earthy tones for the textiles and decor through out the house, and played with nuances of greens, and yellows.
As a pediatric, adolescent counselor, it was clear to us that giving and helping were our client biggest qualities so we really wanted to give her and her family a home as nurturing, warm and grounded as she is.
