McKenzie Kitchen After
This project was so much fun and challenging at the same time. This home located on lake Lanier had a kitchen that was large but not functional nor open. the client wanted to keep the majority of the shaker cherry cabinets and maintain the warm wood tones that complimented the style of the home. the challenge came in trying to match the aged cherry wood and door style of the existing kitchen to new parts. Keeping in style with the homes trims and mouldings. The concept was to open the space that was closed off by a very large peninsula and separate pantry and create a more open space that utilized both rooms while providing more useful spaces. We were able to create different zones by doing so. One bar area, a pantry, baking area and main kitchen triangle zone. The customer opted for less obtrusive appliances and went with under counter refrigerator and freezer in the island instead of the traditional free standing ref. This allowed for more valuable counter space.
