Mediterranean Transitional

When I began working with these clients I was thrilled to discover their wonderful art- loved the pieces they’d collected during their travels. Together we duplicated the beauty of their art selections in their furniture and decorative items. We continued to edit, add, and evaluate until their home felt cohesive. The harmony across items created the flow they desired.

When I first met these clients, they told me that they love to entertain. They really wanted their home to be comfortable and warm, and also “beautiful- but not in a showy way.” As I came to know them, I realized how perfectly this couple, in describing their dream home, had described themselves.

It was important to convey ease and comfort from the moment a guest entered the home. We added a 1940s Persian runner to the entry way along with a rustic bench. Both draw the guest in, providing immediate coziness as well as visual interest.

The main floor wine bar sits at the base of the stairs. A pop of green ties it to the second floor color and to the cool tones used in the dining area. By clearing all but a handful of items, we allowed the remaining items to get the attention they deserve.
