Mid-Century Modern Renovation
Mid Century Modern Renovation - This 1950's/60's single family home was in need of a contemporary facelift. The home was basically untouched from the original finishes and building components. Over the years, the 65 year-old home had seen its time come and go and the owners desired to bring the house back to its original glory while maintaining its roots of Mid-Century Modern Ranch styled Architecture. A few years ago, the Kitchen & Bath Cottage was contracted to renovate the kitchen using Bentwood Custom Cabinetry and Wolf & Sub-Zero appliances. In 2015, the architect, Scott Payne, contacted us about replacing all of the windows with Marvin Windows and Doors. This was a monumental task that Andrew Elston and his crew tackled flawlessly. The original windows in the home were built in such a way that it was never meant to be remodeled. At the time of the original construction, it was thought to be a "permanent" finish/window. Removing the 1960's Kawneer store front system, which was cased in Stone veneer was quite the challenge. The custom Clad Marvin windows seamlessly notched into the existing openings with insulated glass and larger glass spans to improve the natural light, efficiency, quality of life and maximized the views.
