Mid-Century Split Entry Refresh
The homeowners had lived in their 1965 split-entry home for twenty-three years and decided to stay put rather than downsize. Though it had been well-maintained, they were ready for a design refresh. The proposed changes were cosmetic, so no major construction was required. It involved changing out the flooring, wall colors, cabinet colors, and light fixtures, as well as adding new furniture, curtains, area rugs, and accessories. They decided to keep the existing wood trim and doors, so we worked with the dark, walnut-brown stain color when making our selections. A beautiful canvas served as the starting point for the color palette, along with their wood trim and fireplace brick. We carried the colors throughout the main level in different ways, bolder in some spaces and more subtly in others. The lower level had a slightly different color palette but retained some common threads with the main level. In the end, everything came together to create a colorful, transitional style that looked beautiful and had a warm and welcoming feel!
