Our clients came to us with a very chopped up main floorplan and hoped to fit in new professional-grade appliances along with a big change in the overall style of the space. We proposed opening up the dividing walls to the living room, removing a secondary sliding door, and taking space from the garage to fit an island. These clients loved modern and clean but had a very traditional home.
Our job as designers is to make all of this work and not alienate the rest of the home by being too different architecturally. The Island is small, but we designed a custom table that could sit up to it for every day life, and be pulled out for entertaining.
