This area of the kitchen did not seem to fit with the rest of the open concept main floor. The client has 3 children and this is their main area for gathering as a family. I wanted to make it functional and also add a little fun! I warmed up the space by building banquette seating, with shiplap detail, and using FLOR carpet tiles as cushions for easy clean up. The banquette also has a hidden cabinet so they can store their back packs.

The table was a great find on FaceBook marketplace, and we stripped the white paint off the top to bring back the original wood grain. I also capped one of the canned lights and added a rattan chandelier for a more focus light in the space.
