The overall design concept was to create a unique interior to balance the whimsical style the architect created for the home. The house consists of 7 different exterior materials. It was important to create a simple modern interior, that complemented these exterior elements. Within the interior, each space was designed with a different flooring, wall texture and lighting to continue the whimsical design created on the exterior of the home. The clients wanted modern and unusual style elements, very little maintenance and a plan for certain physical restrictions formed by rheumatoid arthritis. The exterior patio which houses a sun room, a pool and hot tub is surrounded by aged trees and foliage that highlight the property. The client also wanted to enjoy as much of the surroundings as possible from the interior of the home.
