New construction of an energy efficient modern farmhouse in Los Altos Hills. Our client wanted to build a green home that uses natural energy for heating and cooling. We identified the optimal orientation for the house on the property and designed the roof to accommodate a large solar cell array. Using the staircase as passive thermal chimney, we draw air from the lower levels and vent it out through a skylight on the second floor.
