Mission - get rid of water guzzling grass lawn and create a fun place for friends and family to gather in the front yard. To create privacy, we designed a boundary wall and incorporated plants in front of the wall to soften its appearance. The wall frames the front yard create a feeling of a courtyard. It’s not common to have a fire pit in the front yard. This client was creative and spent a lot of time hanging out with their children and the neighbors’ children and parents. It became the house to go to to catch up, share a glass of wine or a beer in the evenings after work. The landscaping is drought tolerant and the homeowner received a water-wise rebate from the City of Ventura.
