This bench was commissioned to memoralize the clients' daughter who passed away from lung cancer at 17 years old. All the elements in the bench relate to their daughter in some significant way. They live in the redwoods, they are very close to the Pacific ocean, she loved flowers and she was homecoming queen the fall before she passed. She was a water polo player and this is the area where the kids hang out while waiting for their rides after practice. It has been used on a regular basis ever since installation. This was the most meaningful project I have ever had the pleasure to create.
