Natoma Cabana
This historic San Francisco building was a former blacksmith shop. The building sat empty for many years and thus required extensive remodeling and design work. The clients wanted to remake the venue into an outdoor party space and immediately our team initiated concept design to make their vision into tangible reality.
My goal was to create an inviting atmosphere rich with character and warmth. In order to accomplish this we had the walls and ceilings sand blasted to revive the wood and highlight the crimson on the brick. Our team added more physical space to make a more comfortable flow for patrons and workers by removing certain walls and hand-crafting custom bench seating. Previous unused spaced was re-imagined to offer private event space for discerning groups and corporate guests.
The owner's original desire to create an "outdoor event space" was realized in the details of the venue. We brought in special seating, tables, plants and accents specialty made for outdoor cabana like areas such as the Beverly Hills Hotel Pool. These beautiful pieces are made of reclaimed wood all with unique colors and shapes. The live plants all of which thrive under low light indoor settings add an organic feel to the garden party concept.
For the entrance of the building we endeavored to create a unique design that was both unforgettable and bold. We hired world-famous artist Ian Ross to hand-paint a magnificent mural on the brick facade. I hope you stop into Natoma Cabana and enjoy a delicious cocktail and see for yourself.
