Natural Textures Throughout

The kitchen felt cramped, dark, and outdated. The original cabinets were updated with a rich green paint color and additional pantry cabinets were added where the kitchen table used to be, featuring lots of additional storage, a built-in microwave, and coffee bar. With the kitchen table removed, we were able to expand the size of the island, creating plenty of casual seating for the entire family, more prep counter space, and lots of functional details like a beverage fridge and a garbage/recycling cabinet. We used a stained knotty alder wood for the island to contrast with the green perimeter cabinets. With the pantry cabinets added, we were able to open up the space around the new custom vent hood and added floating shelves. New brass pendants and wall sconces create tons of personality. Geometric cement tile backsplash by the sink and simple white subway tile around the range oven is another highlight to this one-of-a-kind kitchen.
