Netherland Lofts - Miami Beach

When long time clients and good friends came to Barrie with their newest acquisition (the entire 4th floor 6,000 sq ft of the Netherland @ 1330 Ocean Drive) it was a dream come true. Raw space is Barrie’s favorite type of project. Why? Because space planning is a challenge that uses all elements of the design process. This project required a master space plan that would optimize the gorgeous views of Lummus Park, the tall coconut trees and the magnificent turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Flooring is 24 x 24 Brazilian Bajia, blue grey limestone that keeps cool under foot in the hot steamy tropical Miami weather. the original ceiling was dropped so I had it removed and then had the concrete beams and ceilings sand blasted for s smooth yet rough effect that is a touch lighter than the flooring.

Kitchens are Poggenpohl's teak wood with a horizontal rift. counters are a rare indian green tea granite that happens to have a pale grey blueish hint running through it. You may notice the fun cabinet hardware that s part of a collection designed by a renowned Canadian sculptor.

artwork is all locally sourced. Miami is an art collectors delight so when in Rome you definitely want to adorn your walls in local art.
