Frustration with a tiny, central kitchen was the beginning of the construction version of Musical Chairs. The rooms of the main floor were shifted to create a dream Kitchen, an elegant Diningroom, and a comfortable Living/Family Room, all large enough to host dinner parties and yet intimate enough for their family of four. An unused corner in the office was used to create a walk-in coat closet at the front door, while a frosted door and side-lite bring light into the windowless office. A glass-surrounded staircase visually expands the Family/Living Room, with garden doors opening onto the yard and nearby river. The shoe-box kitchen has been replaced by dream of ebony and natural maple, and a "Comet" granite counter, and is the highlite of this contemporary/eclectic home.
