This basement renovation began with a dream for a space that would provide a state of the art home theatre and entertainment space as well as an area for out of town guests to have a place to stay and feel at home. The basement was converted from an unfinished storage area to a relaxing place for this family to spend their spare time.

This home threatre space would not be complete without a dry bar which features wine and beverage fridges, a large decorative mirror mounted to a split slate stone wall.

To create the ideal home theatre, IsoMax sound insulation clips and sound proof doors were installed to provide a completely sound insulated space. A 120 inch projection screen was seamlessly recessed into the wall to create a custom flush mount screen.

Drywall columns throughout the home theatre area feature decorative wall sconces as well as rear and side surround sound speakers which have been recessed into the columns.

The bar area also houses the media equipment which has been recessed into a niche to the side of the bar. The equipment is also accessible from behind in a closet space which was created under the stairs.

This three piece hotel style bathroom features a large 3 foot by 5 foot spa shower complete with a custom wall tile pattern, a rain shower head and a hand held shower on an adjustable bar.
