Ohayo Mountain
A stone house set on a lovely property needed some charm induced and a bit of brightening up. This vacation home was purchased for a family with two young daughters and needed an entire skim coating. After cleaning up all the walls and ceilings and painting, the kitchen cabinets were painted a beautiful shade of gray and new backsplash was installed along with new hardware and faucets giving the room a whole new look. Custom made pantry doors were crafted with reclaimed wood and pops of red contrasted the green cabinets for a punch of color. In the girls room, the walls were painted white to give a simple backdrop to the whimsical bird mural on the walls, and the floors were painted a high gloss lacquered white to off-set the bright pink flor tiles. A wall shelf was added to create a "library" for the girls favorite books with a bean bag in the corner for lounging. A vintage nightstand was painted a bright lemon yellow with porcelain hardware and placed between the two twin beds with woven recycled fabric headboards. A wall of chalkboard paint is on the adjacent wall for more creative fun. In the master, reclaimed wood walls were added along with new carpeting and the room was painted a deep dark gray while the ceiling went white with a new ceiling fan. The upholstered mid century platform bed is flanked by bright poppy nightstands and scissor lamps for reading.
