Open Floor Plan Wellesley Massachusetts
These clients desired an open floor plan for their cramped, mid-size Colonial home in Wellesley, Massachusetts. The kitchen was dark and small, located in the front of the house with no access to the front foyer. The low windows were another challenge. A side entry opened into the kitchen. It was a maze walking from the front entry to the kitchen, to the dining room and to the powder room.
Kitchen Visions removed walls, allowing the dining room to become the kitchen and the old kitchen to become the family dining area with a built-in buffet and bar. The wall from the old kitchen was moved one foot into the front foyer and a new 48" cased opening was creating access to the front hall.
The back hall was reconfigured, the original kitchen entry closed, and now has a built-in bench, hooks, and a closet, with better flow to the kitchen and bath.
