Meticulous design, spare color and restrained material choices define the landscape for this home. The site design unified two parcels – with the new home occupying one parcel and the rear yard of the second. An adjacent bungalow and numerous mature trees were preserved. Working with an unconventionally sited pool – the private second floor spaces span the water – provided dramatic opportunities for the landscape. Sculpture from the owner’s collection was incorporated into the overall plan. Green criteria including permeable paving and water efficient landscaping, photo voltaic systems, energy efficient lighting, appliances, materials and finishes were used throughout this project.
