An innovative approach to Green and affordable housing, this project brings the Portland Development Commission (PDC) into partnership. Five freestanding passive solar homes and five sustainable row houses join a common green that features a south-facing village commons with a community-built tea house, vegetable and flower gardens, fountains, kiosks, benches, and permeable walking and driving surfaces. The project features a unique approach to using and accommodating automobiles while eliminating garages and providing more shared open space. Project done in collaboration with Communitecture.
