Dynamic Garage Door was consulted to design, craft and install custom garage doors for this award winning South Pasadena architectural Residence designed by Reginald Johnson in the 1920's and has gone through a detailed renovation over the years. The Paxton House has tons of architectural elements featuring French doors throughout the premises as well as patios and courtyards in a European style nostalgia that incorporates architectural features of legendary villas found throughout Europe. Designing the garage doors for this Paxton home was a pride enjoyment for Dynamic Garage Door designers as it is a prime example of Reginald Johnson's Early California architectural designs! The driveway courtyard features a four car garage consisting of two single car garage doors and a double which also looks like two individual garage doors.

Creating a timeless architectural garage door design for this Pasadena masterpiece was a challenge because the focal point was to preserve yet improve the functionality of the old garage doors which were falling apart and were a danger to operate. We based our garage door design on existing architectural elements already found throughout the home including the balusters used over the glass. The decorative iron hardware used on these garage door was uniquely designed and put together to enhance a swing-open functionality appearance while the doors actually roll up at the push of a button. Though we opted to use a composite wood material, the selection of the finish and texture absolutely remained true to the home's historical essence.
