Passive Solar Greek Revival

This new Vermont Farmhouse is being built with its facade facing due south to take advantage of the winter solar gain. The Passive Solar features and super-insulation combined with generous roof overhangs will keep this home warm in winter and cool in the summer. A ground source heat pump (geothermal) system will provide heating and cooling; efficiently and affordably. Not only will the walls will be filled with insulation, but they will be wrapped in an exterior blanket of it as well. Although large on the outside, the interior spaces will feel quite intimate thanks to changes in ceiling heights, cozy nooks and the use of warm and durable materials.
