This single flowered red peony is a heavy bloomer and the flowers are a nice contrast to the deep green handsome foliage. This one is called 'Nippon beauty'.

Rosa glauca or the blue rose can grow to be 8-10 ft. tall and at least 6 ft. wide. Its single blooms are small but the color is a chic contrast to the blue-green leaves. This one is growing next to a stand of Painter's palette. In the fall the plant is filled with bright orange hips.

A daylilly assortment grow in a sunny border on a parkway. These spread nicely but are much better behaved than the species. The larger varieties are El Desperado and Mauna Loa. The smaller ones are a unique rust/orange color and are unidentifiable.

A large cup plant (9-10' tall) is surrounded by 2 kinds of barberry, daylilly 'Bela Lugosi' and some volunteer milkweeds to feed the monarchs.
