This patio was installed at a bed and breakfast that was having severe water issues. The building was constructed in the 1800's and was sitting on a dry stack stone foundation which was beginning to show signs of fatigue. The yard was a steep hill directing water towards the side of the building with nowhere else to go. To alleviate the problem we installed a permeable patio over a series of drainage pipes leading to a large dry well elsewhere on the property complete with an exit drain should the dry well be overloaded. This not only solves the issue of water seeping into the basement and heaving earth causing more damage to the building, but now the client also has more usable space.
