Pizzelii is a fast casual pizza concept and it was a challenging site. There are two separate buildings, the front building with a very short ceiling and a back building with a very tall ceiling. To make the space work we placed the entry in the back (taller building) and made the transom between the two abnormally long and low so the lower ceiling of front building seemed higher when you emerged through the transom. This is Frank Lloyd Wright trick used a lot at the entry of his buildings to make them seem more grandiose inside.

I got to have a lot of fun with color, texture and materials on this project. In many cases a residential homeowner is looking for a more neutral color palate and more traditional details. The two tone brick design interspersed with the high gloss red ceiling, stainless steel, quartz countertops and walnut wood finishes really help to create a fun and exciting space.
