Pond View Patio
Raised and tiered backyard dining area off existing deck after a large tree was lost. The client wanted a classic, understated look, with room for frequent entertaining, perennial gardens, and clear views of the pond from all outdoor and indoor spaces. The upper patio was designed for an outdoor kitchen that was not built but still serves as a nice transition from deck to the dining area. A small raised bed abutting the deck hides the under deck and completes the grade transition on that side. Custom wood screens with vines were added for privacy from the street and to add interest to the back of the garage. New honeylocust trees will provide dappled shade from late afternoon sun. Artful landscape lighting washes the patio with warmth in the evening.
