Pondside Contemporary
This contemporary pond-side home was designed for two local retired doctors. Our clients sought a net-zero ready home with accessible, one-level living. The resulting articulated design with multiple wings extends its footprint across the landscape, creating auspicious energy, and a distinct experience in each area of the home. The house was integrated into the natural form of the land, with minimal earthwork and tree clearing.
Our clients share a love for the outdoors, and value interacting with nature. One essential intention in the design of their home was to beckon them to the natural environment. Tall windows align the home to capture the abundant daylight and attract one outside. The landscape design involved the creation of a self-sustaining pond that would invite interaction from local fauna.
