Newcomers to Louisville found a charming, older house in the Highlands. Floor plan was very traditional which suited the new owners...also charming and traditional. But there were some problems... Small bedrooms, all on second floor, and
no master bath or large closets. Solution .... The foot print of the house could be extended “gracefully” into the existing backyard. A large back porch was added, a new Master Suite was added as well. My clients had strong opinions about this addition. They wanted a very practical application ....not too many “bells and whistles." They wanted the main seating area as close to the outdoors as possible, two doors into the home, and a place to write. And the dog can relax too! An open easy seating area with warm, comfortable outdoor furniture made it the place where they wanted to spend a lot of time. (Photos by David Stewart - Ad Cat Media)
