Pre-war U.W.S.
Gut renovation of a 1,200 sq/ft apartment finished to the highest levels. The master bathroom is finished in marble slabs, the guest bathroom has custom cut marble mosaic, and the fireplace, which was completely rebuilt, has book-matched marble slabs wrapped around the chimney breast.
The finished apartment is stunning, but it was not an easy road to travel. After demolition, it was found that a previous renovation had recessed several radiators into the façade wall, leaving only the exterior brick between the radiator and the outside. Three thru-wall ACs had also been installed, and none of the penetrations had been done properly. All of the penetrations went under windows, and no lintels had been installed, which lead to all the exterior sills dipping over the penetrations. These two things meant that the façade was severely compromised, and actually leaning out from the apartment.
