Private Residence - Tring
Our clients purchased this property in Tring, 6 months before contacting us. New to the area, & having previously lived in a London flat, they were looking to completely refurbish it, creating a welcoming home for their young family. Having not been renovated since 1992 they describe the house as ‘a dark time capsule, a maze of corridors and doors.’ The house required a full re-wire, updated central heating system, new windows & doors as well as new kitchen, bathrooms and finishes throughout.
Lomax & Chi re-designed the internal layout at ground floor to create a light, spacious & contemporary home. Removing internal walls to create a semi open-plan living space. Re-locating the front door back to its original position opening onto the entrance hallway, thereby creating a generous boot room, embracing the family’s emerging country lifestyle and providing necessary storage. The client chose to replicate the existing kitchen layout, but both kitchen & dining area was updated to suit the specific needs of the client. Incorporating large bifold doors onto the back, opening the dining area onto a raised patio area and mature garden beyond.
At first floor, the bedrooms and bathrooms have been re-designed and upgraded, each with their own individual features. Working closely with the client and contractor, L&C have designed bespoke joinery throughout, all specifications and layouts for small power, RCP & heating as well as full kitchen and bathroom design & specification.
