The PV Drive Residence is nestled into a hillside with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Inspired by post and beam architecture while married to a contemporary aesthetic the home takes advantage of its surroundings by connecting to nature physically and through the material palette.
Conceptually the home floats over the landscape as the linear wood volume cantilevers over the concrete base. The elongated elevation allows for maximum views and exposure from all primary spaces. The top floor is the main pubic living spaces. With the sliding doors open each space is provided with direct connection to the exterior. Whether users walk onto the front balcony to fully experience the view or step out to the rear patio where the entertainment occurs each space takes advantage of the natural surroundings.
