A Terraced Garden on Queen Anne Hill-Site sensitive design for a front yard
This beautiful traditional house is home to a cheery family with adorable and active young children. Located on the west side of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, it is challenged with both a steep slope and limited usable space. There is an 11' grade change from the public sidewalk to the front door. Not only was the grade change a big challenge but the residence use the side door as the main entry. The primary request of the home owner was to ensure that guest knew to go to the side door and not the front door. Additionall goals were to provide a veggie garden for the kids to grow veggies in, find a place for a fruit tree, hide the garbage cans, address the severe change in grade, provide a front lawn space and make the house more welcoming.
