Our young professional clients desired sophisticated furnishings and a modern update to their current living room, dining room, primary bedroom and gentleman's "speakeasy lounge". First, the walls were painted a creamy white and new white oak flooring was installed throughout. A striking modern dining room chandelier was installed, and layers of luxurious furnishings were added. Overscaled artwork, long navy drapery, and a trio of large mirrors accentuate the soaring vaulted ceilings. A sapphire velvet sofa anchors the living room, while stylish swivel chairs and a comfortable chaise lounge complete the seating area.

The gentleman of the house desired a masculine "speakeasy" room adjacent to his home office. This elegant jewel box room is perfect for relaxing in the evenings with a glass of whiskey or a cocktail. The woman of the house also wanted the room to feel inviting for her, as well. Our team began the design transformation of the formerly all-white room by painting the walls and ceiling a deep sapphire blue, which offset the light white oak flooring beautifully. Next, we added panel mouldings to the walls to create a more formal feeling. Since the large picture window was significantly offset to the right in the room, we installed the drapery offset to the left of the window to make the window appear more centered in the space. The window moulding butts up to the ceiling, so there was no wall to mount the drapery on over the window. Our team opted to mount the drapery rod directly to the ceiling instead, providing dramatic true "floor to ceiling drapery". The monochromatic room is softened by the patterned velvet sapphire drapery, a coordinating velvet loveseat and patterned velvet chairs. The striking banana bark chandelier and banana bark bar chest add another texture and contrast to the room. Crystal lamps and a modern antique gold cocktail table complete the masculine space.

Finally, the primary bedroom was in need of a modern update. New lighting, furnishings, bedding and drapery were selected by our design team. The star of the show is this sleek canopy bed. An upholstered headboard and luxurious bed linens add lush comfort. Long soft blue linen drapery frames the bay window, while a sitting area provides the perfect spot for a morning cup of coffee. Watercolor artwork and elegant marble lamps finish off the space beautifully.
