Sacred Garden Designs rejuvenated a problem back yard and converted it into a family retreat.
Problem: The back yard was sloped towards the house with the ensuing water issues when it rained. Children had outgrown the play structures and with the eroded and sloped play area, the backyard was unattractive and uninviting. The existing Magnolia and Mandarin trees were on the upper part of the slope and the clients wanted to keep these trees.
Solution: Raised planters mitigated part of the slope at the perimeter back wall. The lawn was gently graded and lawn drains installed to redirect rain water away from the house. Lantana, Agapanthus, New Zealand Flax and Iceberg Roses filled the planters.
