There was an addition put on to the existing Stone residence from before the 1860's. This was quite an amazing undertaking by contractor and all involved to blend old with new conveniences and work around the existing stone preimeter as well as exposing some of the beautiful stone to the interior. The big challenge in the kitchen was working around the old Long low windows and deep window wells. One window was shortened in height only on the inside to allow for a small continuous counter. Thats why a large farm style one level island with a sink was added, the bookcase end was added for a little visual break up of the space and for the owners cookbook stroage as well. This was a fun project to be appart of and I admire the homeowners ability to see the potential of this home.
